Navigating dataflows

You can work with any dataflows that are available to your user profile. To view your available dataflows, click Dataflow on the Lumada DataOps Suite menu bar.

The Dataflow menu bar includes the following options:

  • Flows

    Displays the dataflows that are available to your user profile. You can view the dataflows as individual cards or as list items. To access the summary information and execution status for each data flow, use the buttons and controls on the individual dataflows. Learn more

  • Monitoring

    Displays a chronological list of recently executed dataflows, including summary statistics such as success or failure, date and time, and start and end times. You can also access detailed execution reports. Learn more

  • Schedules

    Displays a chronological list of dataflows scheduled to execute, including summary information such as date and time. You can edit, remove, or pause any items in the list. Learn more

Accessing dataflows

Click Flows from the Dataflow menu bar to access the dataflows that are available to your user profile. Locate a dataflow by entering its name in the Search box or use the Sort by drop-down menu to search for a dataflow.

You can view the available dataflows in card format or list format. Click the Card view icon to display the available dataflows as individual cards.

Click List view to display the available dataflows in a tabular format. Click the More options icon to display a menu of actions for the each dataflow.

Dataflow summary view

The Summary page provides a broad overview of the basic information about an individual dataflow. Depending on the roles and permissions granted in your user profile, the summary might also include information and access to the dataflow’s configuration parameters (if any), status, monitoring statistics, and scheduling controls and statistics.

To access the Summary page, click the dataflow in the Card or List view.

Each dataflow, whether viewed as a card, a list item, or on its Summary page, includes the following labels and actions.

Labels and actionsDescription
StatusThe execution status refers to the most recent, or the current, execution of the dataflow. It includes:

Intermediate execution state indicators:

  • Pending

    Hourglass icon

  • Starting

    Hourglass icon

  • Executing

    Running icon

  • Cancelling

    Running icon

Final execution status indicators:

  • Failed

    Red exclamation mark

  • Succeeded

    Green check mark

  • Cancelled

    Minus sign

Active schedulesThe Active schedules icon indicates that the dataflow is scheduled to run and how many scheduled runs are active. The Active schedules icon is available from the Card or List views only.
NameIdentifies the dataflow. Click on the dataflow card, or click View to go to the Summary page. See Dataflow summary view.
Execution statusThe execution status refers to the most recent, or the current, execution of the dataflow. It includes:

Intermediate execution states:

  • Pending

    The dataflow is queued and awaiting execution.

  • Starting

    The dataflow execution is beginning.

  • Executing

    The dataflow is running.

  • Cancelling

    The dataflow is being cancelled.

Final execution statuses:

  • Failed

    The dataflow execution was not able to complete running.

  • Succeeded

    The dataflow successfully completed.

  • Cancelled

    The dataflow was cancelled by a user while executing.

Executed byIdentifies the user who executed the dataflow.
DurationIndicates the run time of the dataflow.
End timeRecord of the date and time when the execution ended.
ViewClick the View button to view the dataflow Summary page.
ExecuteClick the Execute button to view the Execution Settings page. See Executing dataflows.
More optionsClick the More options icon to view the execution report and options related to the dataflow, including cancelling a dataflow execution.
Visibility (Summary view, Administrator)Click the Visibility icon (eye) to show or hide the dataflow's parameters on the Execution Settings page:

  • If visible, then users can change the default value of that parameter when configuring values for the dataflow's execution.
  • If hidden, then users are prevented from modifying the parameter value for the dataflow's execution.
Edit (Summary view, Administrator)Click the Edit icon (pencil) to edit the dataflow's parameters.
Parameters (Summary view, Administrator)Click Parameters to filter monitoring of dataflow executions by parameter. See Filter by parameter for instructions.
